Case Study: Profile Cladding and Sheeting
- Client: Petrochemical Manufacturer
- Project: Sheeting of Trough Enclosures
- Location: Cheshire
Project Background
Throughout the plant there are numerous open troughs conveying different types of liquids of varying chemical content at temperatures sufficient to create steam and vapour emissions and occasional splashes. The release of the steam vapours and splashes was having a detrimental effect on the sheeting used on either side of the trough conveyors, the sheeting was being chemically affected and caused the sheeting to become brittle and easily damaged this was occurring on a regular basis.
The Solution
Green Contract Services were asked to review the current arrangement and offer alternative solutions to the problems bearing in mind the continual replacement programme that had historically been required.
Rather than installing normal translucent sheeting, we supplied and fixed after consultation with the manufacturers a sheet that could fulfil chemical resistance to a wider range of the chemicals encountered and was more physically robust.
This resulted in cost savings for the client in the number of sheets being replaced on a regular basis and the disruption incurred to the manufacturing process.
